Challenge

Infotrust is one of Australia’s most credentialled cyber security providers, but in late 2021 their organic search visibility did not match the strength of their offering. The business was operating with a low domain authority, a narrow keyword footprint, and a website built for a smaller, less ambitious version of the brand.

Over the course of the engagement Infotrust has continued to scale – rebranding, acquiring complementary cyber and managed services businesses, ascending to the ASX as ITS, and absorbing teams from across the country. Every chapter of that growth created new technical and editorial work for the site: migrations to consolidate, new service pillars to publish, new locations to be found in, and new buyer questions to answer.

Infotrust needed an SEO partner who could keep pace with a business changing shape beyond the marketing – building strong technical foundations, defending and growing rankings through major site migrations, and converting that visibility into qualified leads for a considered B2B sales cycle.

Approach

SIXGUN built a long-term SEO program structured around three pillars.

Technical foundations and migration management

Infotrust’s site has undergone multiple structural changes during the engagement, including a major migration tied to the brand and acquisition activity in 2024. SIXGUN scoped each migration in advance, mapped legacy URLs, monitored crawls, indexing and rankings through cutover, and recovered authority via a redirect strategy and on-page consolidation.

Service and location coverage

Infotrust’s buyers search for very specific things – managed SOC, incident response, penetration testing, GRC consulting, CISO retainers, endpoint security – and they search for them by city. SIXGUN built out service pages and location variants across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and national terms, paired with internal linking that signalled topical depth and intent to Google.

Editorial authority and AI search readiness

The content investment focused on the questions Infotrust’s specialists answer in client conversations every week – threat intelligence, frameworks like SMB1001, ASD Essential Eight, attack surface management, and incident response playbooks. As large language models began surfacing in the buyer journey, that authoritative content also positioned Infotrust strongly inside AI-generated answers.

Results
